Chris
Jamieson from Urenui, New Zealand, shows the Swiss Army Officer’s Knife
with which he saved the lives of two children in April 1997 (taken 27
April 1997).
Jamieson saw a van leave the road and fall into
the Awakino river. Thinking on his feet, he threw himself into the
river and rescued the family of five. Two children in the back seat
were trapped by their seat belts. They had to be cut free using the
Swiss Officer’s Knife. Jamieson, a student, was hailed as a hero by the
New Zealand police. The real «star» of the rescue, however, was the
Swiss knife made by Victorinox.
